Normally the snl sound system reveals who really sounds good and bad live. Of course they sound great lol.

+Slomofogo The female backup singer in this video confirmed on twitter that BTS sang live. Racists always want to try and discredit successful Asians.

Their performance was so impressive! To be able to perfectly execute choreography on such a small stage and make it seem so smooth and effortless...WOW. Don't even get me started on their vocals. I guess i'm officially a fan

I don't listen to boybands anymore but no playback/pre-recorded stuff means you have my respect as a listener. You are a true artist!

+Erwin ahh yes, I'm familiar with some of the things you mentioned. BTS' artistry is not only limited to music and in depth lyrics, they have a storyline going on that they tell through music videos, vcrs, etc and because of this, many theories rise up. BTS take inspiration from people, literature, pop culture, everywhere. Honestly won't be surprised if they took some inspiration from Pink Floyd lol hope you also check out some live performaces of Dionysus too, their choreography is insane!

purple glasses Most of those bands are now old people :-) but anyway I’ll listen to Dionysus with that in mind. Some time ago I was discussing in the comments how some aspects of BTS have a bit of Pink Floyd in them and someone else pointed out how the guitar in one of the songs (Spring Day I think but I’m not sure) seemed inspired by Dave Gilmour’s style in Shine On You Crazy Diamond. The handshake with the burning person in Fire seemed influenced by the cover of the Pink Floyd album Wish You Were Here.

Not only their performance is good , their personality is also good. They are so humble and that's one of the reasons why people love them.

I’m not really Kpop fan, i’m Korean tho. Whenever my non Korean friends asked me about Kpop, i couldn’t say anything because i knew nothing. But BTS is very talented group and they somehow make me proud :p i can see their music is so good and they do their best always to be the best. Their performance is just a satisfaction 👍🏼 they must just eat, sleep, and practice to dance perfectly. I respect them!

+Erwin LOL I have hated ALL "boybands" so much, and I couldn't get into the kpop when it was breaking big circa 2005, even though I am native Korean speaker. Simply adore JAMBINAI too!!!!!!! as well as earlier kpop and other k-genres. My popular music favorites have been Pink Floyd, Morrissey, Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, The Clash, Pulp, Blur, Suede, Depeche Mode, Bright Eyes, CSN, and the nearest thing to BTS was probably Duran Duran. I was so happy to get sucked...

I'm 63, and remember when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was then that they got America's attention. This SNL performance reminds me of that. More Americans now know about BTS. What I love about them is that they perform a new song, and it's immediately catchy. They perform their choreography, their singing, their style, their charisma shows, unlike some artist just singing a new song , this is like a concert. It also made me realize that I don't like rap or hip hop, not into those girly ...

Actually I'm not in the age of Beatles like you, but I perfectly understood the point that you had us know about. 'You are so RIGHT!!'

King Warrior They’re not the best boy band in the world, isn’t that overrating bts? People these days.
