We welcome Bar Smith and Hannah Teagle to show us their Maslow CNC cutting machine, which comes in a $350 kit. This CNC uses an upright design to hold a 4x8 foot sheet of plywood, and is completely open source. We talk about the goals of the Maslow CNC project and what kind of big things it can make!

here: https://youtu.be/y60q6U7NjTQ?t=513 they mention the current precision goal is 64'th of an inch.. can anybody translate what that means into mm? Is it 0.39 mm? I mean 0.4 mm - that is pretty freaking precise for something as low tech as this!

So it's for cutting plywood? Can I put a 2" think slab of hardwood onto the plywood surface and have it CNC that? Aside from the router bit depth, how deep can it cut.

Now these are real inovators who care about creativity for all rather than how much they can make. Still though, they deserve to make money, they are giving us incredible tools here, fantastic product I could have really used when I was finishing my tattoo studio with many cutouts dragons, I hand cut a huge Chinese dragon that went all around the work studio space and this would have made that so easy, I had to do everything by eye, Thank you your work will change a lot of creative lives lol
